Alex Stewart has been named assistant women’s basketball coach at the University of Toledo. Stewart becomes the second coach Cullop has added to her staff this offseason, following former New Mexico assistant Vicki Hall. Stewart will work with all aspects of the program, including perimeter-player development, recruiting, academic support and opponent scouting.
Stewart comes to Toledo following one season at Jacksonville University, where she was responsible for point-guard development, opponent scouting, film breakdown, film exchange and recruiting. While with the Dolphins, she helped mentor Atlantic Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Year Crystal Bell, becoming the program’s first defensive honoree after posting a league-best and JU single-season record 81 steals.
Stewart arrived in Jacksonville, FL after spending three seasons at her alma mater, Georgia Tech, as an academic coach and assistant director of basketball operations.
