University of Dayton Vice President and Director of Athletics Tim Wabler has announced that the University has extended head women’s basketball coach Jim Jabir’s contract and it will run through the 2019-20 season. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Since taking over as Dayton’s head coach in 2003, the two-time Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year has transformed the program, taking the Flyers from 3-25 in his first season to their highest national ranking at No. 11 in both the AP and USA Today Coaches Polls in 2013. In addition, Jabir and the Flyers have earned four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013).
In the last four seasons UD has amassed 97 victories and posted a 46-10 record (.821 winning percentage) in Atlantic 10 games. He led the Flyers to their first A-10 Tournament Championship (2012) and A-10 Regular Season Championship (2013).
