SMCC’s Vo takes men’s job

South Mountain Community College Athletic Director, Todd Eastin, announced the hiring of Daven Vo as the Cougar’s new Head Men’s Basketball Coach.

Daven Vo has spent the past 2 ½ seasons as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach for South Mountain Community College. Coach Vo recently completed the most successful regular season in school history for the women’s program winning 17 regular season games. One of his freshmen was named to the NJCAA All-American team and two freshmen were named to the All-ACCAC team.

Coach Vo served as a the men’s assistant coach under Dan Nichols in the 2007-08 and 2009-2012 seasons here at SMCC. He also served as assistant coach at Grand Canyon University for Coach Nichols in the 2008-09 season. Coach Vo played a vital role in recruiting and post development. Daven Vo started his coaching career in 2006-07, as graduate assistant at the University of Oklahoma for head coach Jeff Capel.
