The University of Northern Iowa women’s basketball program has made two additions to its staff. It was announced today by head coach Tanya Warren. Tiffany Coppage has been hired as an assistant coach, while Ashley Johnson will serve as the new director of women’s basketball operations.
Coppage played and graduated from Missouri State University. She received her degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in general business in 2009 and went on to get her master’s in sports management at Wichita State University in 2011.
Coppage served as a graduate assistant for the women’s basketball program at Wichita State from 2010-2011, where she worked one-on-one with developing guards. Most recently, she worked as the recruiting coordinator for Western Illinois University, where she helped in the recruiting efforts of more than 200 prospects.
Ashley Johnson joins UNI after working for ESPN Wide World of Sports for the Walt Disney Co. as a third party sales and programming associate. Johnson graduated from UNI with her degree in economics in 2011 and received her master’s in sports administration from Belmont University in April 2013.
Johnson worked in the compliance office as an intern during her time at Belmont and was also a business operations and ticketing graduate assistant.
