– Southeast Missouri head women’s basketball coach Ty Margenthaler completed his coaching staff by hiring LaToya Howell as an assistant coach.
Howell, who spent the previous two seasons at Texas-Pan American, will primarily coach the Redhawks’ perimeter players. She will also be involved in recruiting.
During her two seasons at UTPA, Howell coached the Broncs’ post players and put together the team’s practice plans. She was also heavily involved in recruiting efforts. Her efforts helped land forward Cassandra Moody a spot on the All-Great West Conference first team in 2012-13. Her tutelage of Joyea Marshall also paid dividends with Marshall earning GWC Newcomer of the Year and second-team All-GWC honors.
