Tulsa Head Women’s Basketball Coach Matilda Mossman announced the promotion of Shane Coffey to Associate Head Coach and Britney Brown to Recruiting Coordinator.
"Shane and Britney have played a major role in the resurgence of our women’s basketball program at TU," Mossman said. "They have been on board with me since the day I took the job as head coach and they have both proven to be trustworthy and extremely loyal."
"I felt fortunate to hire Shane and Britney from the beginning and am excited that we are starting our third year together. The three of us share so many common thoughts, ideas and characteristics that it makes it fun to work together every day."
Coffey and Brown have both been with the program for two seasons, helping the Hurricane record 30 wins, claim the 2013 Conference USA tournament title and advance to the NCAA Championship for just the second time in program history.
Coffey, who has worked with the post players the last two seasons, will now work with the perimeter players, while Brown will work solely with the point guards and maintain all aspects of the recruiting process.
"Shane has so many years of experience, has been involved in almost any situation you can think of, and I trust his judgment," Mossman said. "Moving him to the position of Associate Head Coach is a no-brainer."
"Britney’s people skills are unparalleled. She is extremely organized, recognizes talent and is willing to put in the work required to recruit outstanding student-athletes."
