Assumption College head coach Kerry Phayre won her 300th game as the Assumption College women’s basketball head coach as the Hounds defeated American International by a 55-47 final in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday.
Under her direction, the Hounds have reached the NCAA Tournament Regional Semifinals on five occasions, including the 2010-11 and 2012-2013 seasons as the team tied the single-season school record with 22 victories. During her time at Assumption, Phayre has coached 29 Northeast-10 Conference All-Stars, four Academic All-District players, three Academic All-Americans, one Northeast-10 Player of the Year (Katelyn Dwyer), two Northeast-10 Freshmen of the Year (Charde Floyd, Gabrielle Gibson), two Northeast-10 Scholar-Athletes of the Year (Stacy Mattioli, Leslie Lupien) and 18 of the top 25 scorers in school history.
Prior to her time at Assumption, Phayre served as the head coach at Division I Columbia University for five seasons from 1991-1996.
