William and Mary Adds Three Assistants

William and Mary women’s basketball head coach Ed Swanson has announced the hiring of three assistant coaches on Wednesday. Joining the Tribe program will be Jeanette Wedo, Millette Green and Kelly Killion.

Assistant Coach Jeanette Wedo

For the last three seasons, Wedo has been an assistant coach at Sacred Heart University under current Tribe head coach Ed Swanson. While at Sacred Heart, Wedo was apart of a pioneer program that made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament (2012) and two appearances in the WNIT (2013 and 2011). With her wealth of experience and knowledge, she was influential in the development of the Pioneer post players, which saw forward Callan Taylor earn 2012 Northeast Conference Player of the Year accolades. Additionally, she served as the Sacred Heart recruiting and academic coordinator. Her prowess on the recruiting trail landed Arizona native Gabrielle Washington, who was the 2012 NEC Rookie of the Year. Wedo has made assistant coaching stops at Lafayette College, University of California-San Diego and East Stroudsburg University. Additionally, she was the head coach at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. Wedo was a four-year letter winner on the women’s basketball team at the University of San Diego. She graduated from San Diego in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and a minor in Sociology. She later earned a Master’s degree in Sport Management from East Stroudsburg University in 2004.

Assistant Coach Millette Green

Before coming to William and Mary, Green spent the last three seasons at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where in 2012 she was the associate head coach for the Knights. During her three-year tenure under head coach Peter Cinella, Green was the Fairleigh Dickinson recruiting coordinator as her efforts landed Erika Livermore, who was a First Team All-Northeast Conference selection last season. Green’s prior experience consists of assistant coaching stops at Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis and Robert Morris University. She also worked for the Charlotte Bobcats of the NBA as a community relations intern. Green is a 2003 graduate of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and an MBA Preparatory Certificate at UMBC. Green completed her Master’s of Business Administration and Master’s of Science in Sports Management at Barry University in Miami Shores, Fl.

Assistant Coach Kelly Killion

Killion spent last season as an assistant coach at Sacred Heart University under current Tribe head coach Ed Swanson. While in Fairfield, Conn., Killion’s main duties included; guard development, assistance in recruiting efforts, scouting and the coordination of community service projects. Prior to Sacred Heart, Killion spent two seasons at the University of Pennsylvania as an assistant under head coach Mike McLaughlin. During her first season with the Quakers, she helped Penn to its largest single-season turnaround in program history, which included the program’s first Big 5 win in six years. Killion played college basketball at Holy Family University in Philadelphia, Pa., where she was a Division II All-American as a senior and was a two-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Holy Family in 2008.
