Head coach Peter Cinella and the Fairleigh Dickinson women’s basketball program have announced the hire of Dana Wieller as an Assistant Coach for the 2017-18 season.
“We are extremely happy to welcome Dana to Fairleigh Dickinson,” said Cinella. “She brings experiences as both a player and a coach that will benefit our team in multiple areas both on and off the court.”
Wieller spent the last two seasons (2015-16, 2016-17) at Flagler University (Fla.) where she assisted with all aspects of the program while under the direction of head coach Erika Lang-Montgomery.
“I am extremely excited and honored to be joining the coaching staff here at Fairleigh Dickinson,” said Wieller. “I look forward to using my experiences as a player and coach to help develop our players here at FDU and progress them towards their goals.”
While at Flagler, Wieller helped the Saints make the Peach Belt Conference Tournament in 2015-16.
Prior to Flagler, Wieller spent one season (2014-15) as a graduate assistant at East Stroudsburg (Pa.) where she supervised team and individual workouts and broke down game film.
The Bethlehem, Pennsylvania native also spent one season as the Director of Basketball Operations at Lafayette.
Wieller played collegiately at Bloomsburg University (Pa.) where she scored over 1,800 points and played in 115 games for the Huskies. She was a three-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Selection, helped Bloomsburg win the 2013 PSAC Championship and was named East Division Rookie of the Year in 2009-10. She graduated from Bloomsburg in 2013 with a degree in mass communications/telecommunications and from East Stroudsburg in 2015 with a master’s in sport management.
