Whittington steps down as WBB head coach at D3 Goucher

Goucher College women’s basketball head coach Joya Whittington has stepped down from that position, it was announced on Tuesday.

Current assistant coach Moneshia Davis will lead the program on an interim basis until a successor is named.  A national search for Whittington’s successor will begin immediately.

In her one season on the Gopher bench, Whittington coached Landmark Conference Second Team All-Conference performer Kyla Smith, the leading scorer in the conference this past season.  The Gophers also led the conference and ranked in the top 25 nationally in offensive rebounds per game, with Kyani Quarles ranking second nationally in that category.
