Leslie Reinecker, an assistant with the Linn-Benton program for the past four years, has been named as the new head coach of the Roadrunners’ women’s basketball program. She will officially begin her role July 3, 2023 and replaces Jerod Gibson, who accepted a position at University of Portland.
Reinecker has 19 years of coaching experience, with 14 years at the collegiate level, including three years as a collegiate head coach. She played an essential role in the Roadrunners’ run to the NWAC Championship Tournament this past season, and an overall record of 21-7.
Prior to joining the Linn-Benton staff in 2019, Reinecker spent three years as head coach at LeTourneau University (NCAA Division III) where she posted numerous program firsts, including best single season overall record and back-to-back American Southwest Conference tournament appearances. She left LeTourneau to move to Oregon to be closer to family, and joined the Roadrunner staff to get back into coaching.
Before LeTourneau Reinecker was an assistant at Sam Houston State (NCAA Division I) for five seasons after previously serving as head coach for five years at two different high schools. She started her coaching career as an assistant coach at Allegheny College (NCAA Division III).
Gibson coached the Roadrunners for five seasons and posted the best season record since 2006-07 this past year. He left Linn-Benton to become an assistant coach with the University of Portland women’s program.
