Washburn women’s basketball coach Ron McHenry announced Monday that former player Brette (Ulsaker) Herber will return to Washburn as the team’s top assistant coach.
Herber will begin her duties Wednesday, replacing Jim Biggs after the two-year coach left the program this summer.
She played for Washburn for three seasons from 2007-08 to 2009-10 and she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in history from Washburn in 2011. Herber spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Iowa Western Community College where she helped coach the Reivers to a 46-18 record. She coached the guards and assisted with practice plans while coordinating the team’s weights and conditioning program.
