Wagner Hires Director Of Women’s Basketball Operations

Wagner head women’s basketball coach Heather Jacobs has announced the hiring of Tommy Turgeon as the Seahawks’ director of operations.

A 2014 graduate of Bellevue University in Bellevue, NE, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Management, Turgeon has experience working on the coaching staffs of four different colleges.

During the 2017-18 season, he served on the staff at the University of Denver where he assisted with recruiting efforts, game plan development, film evaluation and preparation, as well as practice plan execution.

Prior to his stint at Denver, Turgeon was on staff at Chadron State College in Chadron, NE. Turgeon also served on the staffs of Colorado State University-Pueblo and Iowa Western Community College. At Iowa Western, Turgeon earned an associate’s degree where he was a President’s Scholar, women’s basketball team manager, as well as a member of the men’s soccer team.

Turgeon hails from a basketball family as his father, Jim, is a long-time collegiate head coach, most recently at the University of Denver, while his uncle, Mark, is the head coach at the University of Maryland.

In addition to his coaching duties at Wagner, Turgeon will pursue a Master’s of Business Administration.
