Wagner women’s basketball head coach Terrell Coburn has announced the addition of Alexis Lloyd as an assistant coach.
“I am thrilled to have Alexis join our staff,” Coburn said. “She brings a relentless and substantial skill set to our program. She expresses and displays commitment relationships with our players, growth and winning mentality that will continue to enhance our program. I’m very excited to be working with her.”
A graduate of the University of Southern California, Alexis played for the Trojans from 2014 to 2017. Prior to her time at USC, Alexis played her freshman season at Virginia Tech.
Prior to her collegiate career, Alexis was a four star, top-100 recruit by ESPN HoopGurlz out of Whitney Young High in Chicago, IL. She was ranked no. 81 overall and the no. 31 guard in the country.
Following graduation, Lloyd played professionally in Europe Malta Basketball Association. Following her playing career, Alexis joined the Texas Southern University under Basketball Hall of Famer Cynthia Cooper. Lloyd worked at Texas Southern from 2019 to 2022.
Alexis was also the Director of Rookie League (K5-12th grade boys & girls) at Showcase Basketball. At Showcase Basketball Alexis was responsible for organizing and managing operations of the league, leading all practices and games while leading with semi-private and group training sessions. He played a tremendous role in the development of members of the coaching apprenticeship.
Alexis also worked at DTermined Basketball Organization and was the head coach for players in the age range of 8 to 10. At DTermined, she organized and led practice sessions, led private and group workouts and organized travel and game plans.
Lloyd will join a staff that features Coburn, assistant coaches Alycia Gervais and TiAna Jones and director of basketball operations Jasmine Brunson.
The Seahawks will open the 2023-24 campaign on November 6 when they welcome the College of New York to the Spiro Sports Center at 7:00 pm.
