UNCW head women’s basketball coach Adell Harris has added another coach to her inaugural staff with the appointment of former Kennesaw State assistant and Pennsylvania native Kim Tingley as an assistant coach.
Tingley joins the Seahawks from Kennesaw State, where she spent one year as an assistant coach and served as interim head coach following the retirement of head coach Colby Tilley at the end of the season. In her lone campaign with the Owls, Tingley helped the program record its first Atlantic Sun Tournament victory and played a key role in the development of Atlantic Sun Conference Rookie-of-the-Year Taylor Mills.
Prior to her time in Georgia, Tingley spent four seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Seton Hall. Tingley was responsible for signing a pair of All-Big East Freshman Team selections and also had a recruiting class ranked in the Top 25.
Tingley began her coaching career as an assistant at Robert Morris in 2002-03 before moving to Manhattan. In three seasons with the Jaspers, Tingley was responsible for recruiting two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team members. In addition, Tingley monitored the academic progress of the women’s basketball student-athletes, helping the program receive a No. 13 ranking in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-Academic Team Honor Roll for the 2004-05.
