Athletic Director Paul Stone has announced the appointment of Doug Carter (Williamsburg, Kentucky) as the new Women’s Basketball Coach and Sports Information Director.

Coach Carter joins the Owls from University of the Cumberlands (UC). During the past two seasons, UC was ranked nationally as high as #5 in NAIA Division I Basketball, winning the regular season and Mid-South Conference (MSC) championships in 2012. During that span, UC beat fourteen teams ranked in the NAIA top 25 and this past season, UC lost in the NAIA National Championship Tournament to the eventual National Champions, Westmont College, 63-58.

While at University of the Cumberlands, Carter helped develop three All-Americans, two of which are currently playing professionally, the 2012 MSC Player of the Year, three NAIA Academic All-Americans, nine academic all-conference selections and the 2012-13 MSC co-rookie of the year.
