University of Connecticut Head Women’s Basketball Coach Geno Auriemma will undergo a surgical procedure tomorrow. UConn Women’s Basketball tweeted the following earlier this afternoon:

Geno Auriemma is scheduled to undergo a surgical procedure on Wednesday to alleviate symptoms caused by diverticulitis.
A short stay in the hospital and quick recovery are expected.

UConn is currently ranked #2 in the nation, and defeated DePaul #16 DePaul 84-74 last night in Chicago. The Huskies are off until Sunday, when they will face Oklahoma in the Hall of Fame Showcase at Mohegan Sun.
