UAB President Ray Watts and the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees have agreed upon a contract extension for Head Women’s Basketball Coach Randy Norton.
Norton was rewarded with a new five-year contract after guiding the women’s basketball program to a record-breaking 2017-18 campaign.
The Blazers captured their first regular season C-USA title in program history en route to a school-record 27 victories and a second-round appearance in the WNIT. The Blazers return their top five leading scorers next season and are poised for another tremendous season.
“I am very thankful for the new contract, the support and the opportunity to continue to build a championship program here at UAB,” Norton said. “We have established a great foundation and I am extremely grateful that Mark and our administration have the confidence in me and my staff to take this program to new heights.”
Director of Athletics Mark Ingram and Head Men’s Basketball Coach Robert Ehsan also received extensions.
