Two former Grizzly standouts are trading their jerseys for whistles as Adams State Women’s Basketball Head Coach Mario Caetano announced that Angelline Nageak and Brooke Rodgers will join the program’s coaching staff for the 2025-26 season.

Angelline Nageak, a five-year mainstay for the Grizzlies, scored over 1,000 career points and appeared in 105 games during her collegiate career. She will step into the role of Assistant Coach this season.

“We are incredibly proud to welcome Ai back to the program in a new role,” Caetano said. “As a player, she helped build the foundation of our success—one of the best defenders to ever wear an Adams State uniform and the holder of the single-season steals record. She’s competed in two national tournaments and knows what it takes to win. I’m thrilled that she’s beginning her coaching career with us. As good as she was as a player, I truly believe she’ll be even more valuable as a coach.”

Brooke Rodgers is the second addition to the coaching staff, joining the program as a Graduate Assistant. A one-year transfer from Western New Mexico, Rodgers closed out her playing career as a Grizzly, appearing in 31 games and contributing 165 points and 118 rebounds.

“Brooke may have only spent one season with us as a player, but the impact she made on this program was second to none,” Caetano said. “Her competitiveness, leadership, and commitment set the tone every single day. As she transitions into her new role as a graduate assistant, I know she’ll continue to elevate those around her. Our student-athletes are gaining a great role model, and I’m excited to watch her grow as a coach.”

The Grizzlies open their 2025-26 campaign at the D2CCA Tipoff Classic on October 31 against Northwest Missouri State University.
