Tutzauer joins Susquehanna Women’s Basketball Staff

Susquehanna University women’s basketball head coach Gabby Holko has announced the hiring of Ashley Tutzauer as assistant coach for the upcoming 2022-23 season. 

“We are very excited to welcome Ashley into our Susquehanna women’s basketball family,” said Holko. “Ashley’s three sport careers at Cabrini University speak for themselves. She is bringing a wealth of knowledge into our program from three championship quality programs. Ashley will be working predominately with our guards here at SU. We can’t wait to get her to campus and get to work!” 

Tutzauer comes to SU after a successful career at Cabrini, where she was a standout for the women’s soccer, basketball and lacrosse squads. Tutzauer earned All-Atlantic East conference accolades seven times over the three sports, while also serving as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative. Additionally, Tutzauer was an Atlantic East Conference National SAAC associate representative, where she collaborated with regional and national SAAC representatives to enhance the student-athlete experience. The Toms River, NJ native also participated in the Atlantic East Conference Leadership Workshop in 2022, and was part of the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honors Society. 

On the court, Tutzauer has coached camps since 2017 which include the MLK Basketball Clinic. She was a team captain for the Cavs at Cabrini for two seasons while playing five years on the hardwood, earning All-Atlantic East First Team in 2021-22, as she appeared in 24 games while scoring 12.2 points per game and grabbing 3.7 boards a contest. She led the team with 52 three-pointers made, and shot 81.1 percent from the charity stripe. In 2021, she was named as the Cabrini University Mitchell Kline Most Outstanding Senior Female Student-Athlete, and also was an All-Atlantic East First Team honoree in 2019-20. 

Tutzauer earned her B.S. in early education and special education in 2021, and is currently working on her master’s degree in teaching and learning from Cabrini. She picked up CU Student-Teacher of the Year honors in 2021, and also was selected as a Who’s Who Award recipient at Cabrini. Tutzauer additionally was accepted to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) So You Want To Be A Coach program. 

The River Hawks will start their season Saturday, November 12 at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
