The Saint Joseph’s College Department of Athletics and Head Women’s Basketball Coach Brandon Turner have parted ways after five seasons. A national search for the 10th head coach in the program’s history will begin immediately.
“Saint Joseph’s College is grateful for the leadership and stability Brandon has provided over the years,” said Director of Athletics Bill Massoels. “Our program has reached a point where it is in need of a fresh approach, perhaps benefiting from a new set of eyes.”
Turner joined the SJC coaching staff as a men’s assistant coach in the fall of 2007. In August of 2008 Turner was tabbed to guide the women’s basketball program, serving as the program’s ninth head coach since the inception of the program in 1975.
Turner holds a career record of 32-103. SJC went 0-27 in Turner’s first season and improved to 14-13 in 2011-12 with a Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament appearance. SJC went to the conference twice in Turner’s tenure, falling in the first round each time. The Pumas recorded a 1-25 mark this past season.
