Turgeon named Assistant WBB Coach at Iowa Western

Iowa Western Head women’s basketball coach Jillian Flores Bennett announced the hiring today of Tommy Turgeon as the new assistant coach for the Reivers. 

Turgeon comes to Iowa Western from Our Lady of the Lake University where he spent the last two seasons. He helped guide the Saints to a 2022 Red River Athletic Conference Title and an undefeated season in conference play, finishing the season 20-11. 

Prior to OLLU Turgeon has coached at Colorado Northwestern (NJCAA D1), The University of Denver (NCAA D1), Wagner College (NCAA D1) and Colorado State University-Pueblo (NCAA D2).

Flores Bennett added, “I am thrilled to have Coach T join our staff. He has proven himself to be a loyal and committed coach. His experience from the junior college level all the way to the NCAA Division1 level makes him extremely valuable to our program and our players. Coach T has a great IQ for the game and a creative approach to his teaching. Our players will benefit tremendously from his knowledge.” 

Turgeon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management from Bellevue University. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Business Administration.
