Tran Resigns As Head Coach at Graceland University

On Thursday, April 14, Uyen Tran resigned as the women’s basketball coach at Graceland University after two seasons as the head coach.

Tran began as an assistant coach for Frank Howell in the 2019-2020 season before being selected to replace him as head coach in 2020.

“Uyen did a good job at keeping the core of the team together that came in under Coach Howell.  They played with energy and improved their skills over her two years running the women’s basketball program,” said Graceland University Athletic Director Brady McKillip. “We wish her the best in her new position.”

Tran coached the Yellowjackets to an 11-39 record during her two seasons at the helm.

“We have our eye on several leading candidates already and we are looking forward to filling this coaching vacancy quickly,” said McKillip.

Graceland will immediately commence a national search for a new head coach.
