The Toledo women’s basketball program is making some changes to its staff in preparation for the 2013-14 season, Head Coach Tricia Cullop announced on Wednesday. Assistant Coach Katie Griggs and Director of Operations Rebekah Legan are switching positions within the program.
Griggs finished her fourth season as an assistant coach for the Rockets’ in 2012-13. She worked with all aspects of the program, including scheduling, perimeter-player development, academics and opponent scouting.
Under Griggs’ guidance, a quartet of Rocket guards have earned All-MAC honors on seven occasions — Inma Zanoguera (third team in 2012-13), Andola Dortch (first team in 2012-13, second team in 2011-12), Courtney Ingersoll (third team in 2011-12) and Naama Shafir (first team in 2012-13, first team in 2010-11, second team in 2009-10). During her four years in Toledo, Griggs has helped the Midnight Blue & Gold amass an impressive 107-31 overall record and a 54-10 mark in the Mid-American Conference.
Legan completed her second season as the director of operations for the Rockets this past year. She coordinated or assisted in various administrative areas, including budget management, camps, community service, marketing and promotions, on-campus recruiting, tape exchange, Igniters Fan Club liason, apparrel contact and academics. She also oversaw the student managers and work-study students, as well as the male practice squad.
