Mount St. Mary’s women’s basketball Director of Basketball Operations Maggie Tien is receiving a promotion to Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for the 2023-24 season.
“I am pleased to announce the promotion of Maggie Tien to Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.” Head Coach Antoine White. “Maggie has been with our program for the last two seasons. Starting out as the Director of Operations, she has played a critical role in many areas at the Mount. Her relentless work effort, dedication and loyalty is why she will be an outstanding coach and coordinator.”
Tien originally hails from Montgomery County and arrived at the Mount following an athletic career as a three-point specialist guard for Hood College and Washington Adventist. The position of Director of Women’s Basketball Operations was her first post graduate opportunity and involved all planning and coordination for day-to-day events, most notably the 2022 NCAA Women’s First Four.
This past season, Tien’s duties increased, and she aptly fulfilled new roles on the staff. Her assistance helped ensure success for the team’s first year in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
The 2023-24 Mount St. Mary’s basketball season begins in November. Information regarding schedule and update rosters get released over the summer months
