Keith Stagg, an assistant coach at NCAA Division II West Virginia Wesleyan College, was announced today as the new Head Women’s Basketball Coach at The Apprentice School by Director of Athletics Keisha Pexton.
Stagg served the last two seasons as a women’s assistant coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College and helped lead the Bobcats to the 2011-12 West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament titles. Stagg handled all aspects in support of head coach Jackie DeVane and was the assistant director of a WVWC Summer Youth Camp.
Prior to WVWC he was an assistant coach for two years at Christiana High School in Newark, Delaware where he worked with both the varsity and junior varsity teams. He also was the assistant men’s basketball coach at Wilmington University (DE) for the 2008-09 season. His background also includes nine years as a 17-and-under AAU head coach and three years as an assistant coach for both basketball teams at Phoebus High School from 2000-03.
Stagg graduated from Delaware State with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education in May of 2000. He was a member of the men’s basketball team from 1994-97 member of the men’s basketball team.
