Texas Tech women’s basketball coach Candace Whitaker added to her inaugural staff Thursday with the hiring of Kirk Crawford as an assistant coach and Melissa Maines as the program’s director of operations.

Crawford arrives at Tech after spending the 2012-13 season at Wichita State while Maines returns to her hometown and alma mater after spending 10 seasons in similar roles at both Florida and Auburn.

Maines, meanwhile, returns to Lubbock for her second stint as the program’s director of operations as she also held the role from 1998-2000 before moving over to be Tech’s regional director for women’s athletics.
