Temple Women’s Basketball Adds Assistant Coaches Curley, Jackson

Temple head women’s basketball coach Diane Richardson announced today two new additions to her coaching staff with the hires of assistant coaches Cheyenne Curley and Myles Jackson.

Curley comes to Temple having spent the past five seasons with Richardson at Towson. Curley, a 2021 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 honoree, spent the last three years as an assistant coach after being promoted from director of basketball operations in 2019.

“Cheyenne has been an Elite Division I athlete and knows the game well,” Richardson said. “It will be wonderful to have her expertise in coaching and skill development. Her ability to connect with the players helps to create a winning culture.”

“I am extremely grateful for Coach Richardson for providing me with the opportunity to come help rebuild something special at Temple and instill a championship culture in our young women,” said Curley. “I am looking forward to working with our players and developing their competitive spirit.”

Prior to her time at Towson, Curley worked at San Diego City College after earning a bachelor’s degree from Howard University where she was a four-year starter at point guard who led the Bison to two seasons with 20 or more wins.

Jackson joins the Temple women’s basketball coaching staff from Towson as well after spending the last five years with Richardson at Towson. Most recently, Jackson served as an assistant coach for the 2021-22 season after moving from a support staff role for two seasons as the director of basketball operations.

“Myles is a young up and coming coach with lots of energy,” said Richardson. “His work ethic is phenomenal, and he has worked in all aspects of coaching.”

“I want to thank Coach Rich for the opportunity to grow and become a member of coaching her staff here at Temple,” said Jackson. “Her leadership, competitiveness, and love for her student-athletes are second to none in this business. I can’t wait to get to work, and even more excited for the future of Temple Women’s basketball led by Coach Rich!”

Jackson has been at Towson since he was an undergraduate at the university. As a student, Jackson was a scout team player and student manager for the team for four years. He assisted with the scouting and film breakdown for game preparations, as well as day-to-day management of team activities assisting the director of basketball operations.
