Taylor University Hires Assistant

The Taylor women’s basketball team has added Taylor alumna Sarah Shedd to the coaching staff as an assistant coach.

A 2004 graduate of Taylor, Shedd was a four-year letter winner for the Trojans from 2000 – 2004. After graduating from TU with a degree in English Education Shedd was the freshmen and assistant varsity girls coach at Northrop High School in Fort Wayne before joining the Taylor women’s basketball coaching staff in 2006, she served as an assistant coach for the Trojans until 2009.

"I am excited to welcome Sarah Shedd to our women’s basketball program," Taylor coach Kelly Packard explained. "Sarah has tremendous loyalty to this program, and her passion for these young ladies is visible. I value her knowledge of the history of this program, and her knowledge of the Crossroads League. She will compliment our staff and our players will benefit from her energizing personality."

Shedd currently works as a Campus Life Director for Youth for Christ in the Bluffton and Belmont middle schools. She recently completed her masters in counseling from Huntington University and has previously worked as a middle school teacher.

"Words cannot express how excited I am for this opportunity to come back to Taylor and help coach again for the women’s basketball team," Shedd said. "Taylor basketball and the Taylor community have such a special place in my heart. Simply put, returning to Taylor feels like coming home to me.

"I feel incredibly blessed to be able to coach alongside Coach Packard and Coach Shade, as we seek to pour into this team spiritually, mentally, and physically. I have no doubt that God is going to be glorified through this team and throughout the season."

Shedd will begin working with the women’s basketball team immediately.
