The Taylor University Athletic Department announces the hiring of Andy Meneely as an assistant coach with the women’s basketball program. Meneely returns to Taylor for his first season with the women’s basketball program since graduating in 2000.
Prior to his return, Andy was an assistant coach at Pensacola State (Junior) College with the men’s basketball team. He was in charge of guard play and operations. During his three years there, 13 players signed full scholarships to four-year colleges.
Meneely assisted with the College of Wooster with the women’s basketball for two years. He was in charge of post play, recruiting, scouting, and was the head JV coach. He worked with three all-conference honoree post players and the team reached post-season play each year.
His first college coaching job as an assistant was with the Lincoln Christian College men’s basketball program. In charge of guard play, recruiting, scouting, and facilities, Meneely helped direct the team to an average of 88.2 points per game. The team went on to a 12-game turn around, the program’s first regional championship, and an NCCAA-II Final Four finish.
Meneely’s first coaching experience came as an undergraduate student working with the Taylor women’s basketball team.
