Stock Joins Wolverine Program as Assistant Director of Operation

Phil Stock, who spent last season as an intern for the Wright State University men’s basketball team, has joined the University of Michigan women’s basketball program as the assistant director of operations.

He will assist head coach Kim Barnes Arico and director of operations Amy Mulligan in the day-to-day administrative work and running of the women’s basketball program.

Stock was an intern with the Wright State men’s team in 2013-14 as the Raiders went 21-15 and finished third in the Horizon League. Prior to that season in 2012-13, he served as a student manager for the program.

During his time with the Raiders, Stock helped with cutting film to assist with scouting other teams and improving the team after practices and games. He helped with preparing the team scout and personnel edits as WSU prepared for its upcoming opponent. Stock filmed games and helped with road trip preparation, including food orders, set up for film sessions or team meetings and team laundry.

Stock has also spent numerous summers working with different basketball camps, including ones run by Billy Donlon (2012-13), John Beilein (2013), Archie Miller (2014) and Saul Phillips (2014). He worked for Athletes in Action in 2012 and 2014, helping with the Legends of the Hardwood breakfast.

Stock was the junior varsity head coach during the 2011-12 season at Xenia Christian High School in Xenia, Ohio.

Stock, a business management major, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wright State in 2013. He and his wife, Grace, were married on July 1, 2011.
