Steve Lanpher has resigned from his position as women’s basketball head coach at New Jersey Institute of Technology Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Lenny Kaplan announced Thursday.
Lanpher completed his sixth season at NJIT and posted an overall record of 55-124, including a mark of 7-35 in ASUN Conference play over the last three seasons.
During his tenure, Lanpher guided his first Highlander team to the 2013 Great West Conference Tournament title, the first at any level for NJIT women’s basketball.
While at the helm, Lanpher’s best overall record was 16-15, which occurred in 2012-13.
“On behalf of NJIT, I want to thank Steve for his efforts over the last six seasons in leading the NJIT women’s basketball program,” said Kaplan in announcing the resignation. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Kaplan also announced that NJIT will immediately begin a national search for a women’s basketball head coach.
