Stackhouse named Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Delaware Valley

Delaware Valley University athletics is excited to announce the appointment of Lauren Stackhouse (formerly Snyder) ’02 as the new Head Coach of the Women’s Basketball team. Stackhouse, a distinguished alumna and accomplished coach, brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the university’s athletics program.

Stackhouse, a native of King of Prussia, Pa., began her basketball career at Upper Merion High School before making a significant impact at Delaware Valley University, where she was a four-year starter. Standing at 5’6″, she defied expectations by setting the school’s rebounding record with 951 rebounds and scoring 1,185 points. Her performance earned her two First Team All-Conference selections and the distinction of Academic All-American in her senior year. In October 2015, she was honored with induction into the Delaware Valley University Hall of Fame.

In addition to her college career, Stackhouse co-founded the Delco Goats AAU basketball team and was named Zero Gravity Mid-Atlantic AAU Female Coach of the Year in 2023. Her coaching resume includes her most recent role as Head Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach at West Chester Rustin High School, where she led the team to an overall record of 93-32. Her outstanding leadership earned her All-Area Coach of the Year and PA State Coach of the Year honors in 2023. Stackhouse also served as a Mathematics Teacher for 7th grade at Avon Grove Middle School beginning in January 2004, showcasing her dedication to education and student development.

“Throughout the interview process, Lauren consistently demonstrated her tremendous pride in leading the women’s basketball program as a proud alum and Hall of Fame member,” said DelVal Athletics Director David Duda. “She brings unmatched enthusiasm and vision to the position. Lauren is well accomplished and connected in both the high school and AAU levels, and we look forward to her pursuit of lofty goals leading our Women’s Basketball Program.”

Stackhouse holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and Business Administration from Delaware Valley University, earned in May 2002, and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from West Chester University, completed in December 2004.

On her new role, Coach Stackhouse stated, “I am really looking forward to starting on this new journey at a place that I called home for four years. I know I have big shoes to fill with Coach Laura Hogan retiring, but I am eager to continue her legacy and bring my passion for the game to DelVal.”
