Slippery Rock University acting head women’s basketball coach Chenara Wilson has added Dana Jeter to her staff as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
“Dana brings a great deal of poise and experience to our program and I am thrilled to have her join our staff,” said Wilson, who is set to begin her first season leading The Rock women’s basketball team.
Jeter brings 11 years of high school coaching experience to Slippery Rock and most recently served as a varsity assistant coach for the Warrensville Heights boys basketball team in Ohio from 2018-21, under head coach Brian Swift, where she helped the team win 79 percent of its games.
Prior to that, she served as the head coach of the Shaw High School girls basketball team with East Cleveland City Schools from 2010-17, where she led the team to four league titles and was twice named Coach of the Year.
Along with her head coaching experience, Jeter has also served as a coach and director of the Friends 4 Life travel program and a basketball camp facilitator for TRILL Forever’s, The Zone.
A native of Saginaw, Michigan, Jeter earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Central State University in 1998 and earned a master’s degree in mathematics education from Cambridge College in 2005.
Slippery Rock is scheduled to open the 2022-23 season Nov. 11-12 at a four-team tournament hosted by Indiana University (Pa.). The Rock will play Lincoln University Nov. 11 and Davis & Elkins College Nov. 12.
