Slaton resigns @ S. Arkansas

Southern Arkansas women’s basketball head coach Carrie Slaton has resigned from her position as head coach as it was announced by Director of Athletics Steve Browning.

“We, as an athletic department would like to thank Carrie for her commitment to the University and the Lady Mulerider basketball program,” remarked Browning. “We wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

Slaton, who has spent the past three seasons at the helm of the women’s basketball program, previously served as a graduate assistant from 1999-2000, and was an assistant coach at Southern Arkansas for four seasons before becoming head coach.

In the last three seasons, the Southern Arkansas women’s basketball program was 7-43.

A nationwide search to fill the position will begin immediately.
