Following a three-month national search, Post University director of athletics Anthony Fallacaro announced the hiring of Stephen Schuler as the first full-time head coach of the women’s basketball program. Schuler spent the 2011-12 campaign as the head coach at Albertus Magnus College, a NCAA Division III program in New Haven.
In his only season as the head coach of the Falcons, he led the squad to a 14-12 record. The mark represented the first winning season in eight years for the program. Schuler guided the team to the best start in program history, with four wins to open the season. Additionally, a pair of players was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Third Team at the end of the season.
Prior to his stint as the head coach, he was an assistant on the Albertus Magnus staff for the final three months of the 2010-11 campaign. As a scholastic coach at the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Schuler won 71 games in four seasons and was named the 2008 Connecticut Post Coach of the Year.
