Rogers added to Evansville staff

University of Evansville women’s basketball head coach Oties Epps announced the hiring of Doug Rogers as the team’s director of basketball operations Wednesday afternoon.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Doug Rogers to our staff," Epps said. "Doug is a passionate, humble and trustworthy individual. His enthusiasm for the game and our program is something we were seeking for our director of operations position."

Rogers comes to Evansville from University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he served as the team’s head manager since 2009. Rogers was assisted with recruiting, practice, day-to-day operations, coordination of the practice squad, and was the co-director of the 2012 Bobbie Kelsey Summer Camps. Rogers and Epps were a part of the same Badgers’ staff for two seasons, when Epps was an assistant coach at Wisconsin.

"I am very excited to be here and work for a program that is on the rise under one of my mentors in Coach Epps," Rogers said. "This is a tremendous opportunity for me and I’m ready to get to work alongside the staff and student-athletes."

A native of Lake Zurich, Ill., Rogers graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is also a graduate of Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Ill., where he lettered in basketball and soccer.
