Former Nova Southeastern Women’s Basketball standout and Class of 2021 NSU Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Danielle Robinson-Pratt is rejoining the program and will serve as an Assistant Coach for the Sharks Women’s Basketball team, announces Head Coach LeAnn Freeland-Curry.
“We are so excited Danielle will be joining our staff,” said Freeland-Curry. “She has been a huge part of our success over the years and we expect that our players will learn a lot from her knowledge and experience.”
Robinson-Pratt starred for Nova Southeastern from 2011 until 2015 and is at-or-near the top of nearly every record for the Sharks Women’s Basketball program. She leads all-time in points (1,676), games played (125), games started (123), three-point field goals (227), and free throws made (357). In addition, Robinson-Pratt also ranks top-10 in steals (2nd/191), minutes played (2nd/3,452), rebounds (3rd/594), field goals made (3rd/546), and assists (7th/235).
As a freshman, Robinson-Pratt was selected to the All-Sunshine State Conference Newcomer Team, while also earning the SSC Freshman of the Year Award and was named to the Division II Bulletin All-American Freshman Team. Additionally in her career, Danielle was recognized as the co-SSC Defensive Player of the Year and was placed on the All-Sunshine State Conference and All-South Region Second-Team. Robinson-Pratt closed her prestigious career with SSC Tournament MVP and All-Sunshine State First-Team honors as a senior.
Over the course of her career, the Sharks accumulated 96-wins, earned the first NCAA Elite-8 appearance in program history in 2013, the first Final-Four game in program history in 2014, two SSC regular season championships and one SSC tournament crown in 2015. Nova Southeastern appeared in three consecutive Elite-8 NCAA National Tournament games.
Off the court, Danielle made the most of her time at Nova Southeastern. Robinson-Pratt was named the captain of the NSU Women’s Basketball team three times, was a member of the prestigious President 64, a Student-Athlete Advisory Council representative, Executive VP of Alpha Kappa Psi’s Psi Prospect Class, and the President of the Flying Sharks Aviation Club.
Robinson-Pratt graduated from NSU with her undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science, as a junior in 2014 and completed her graduate studies in Athletic Administration in 2015. Danielle is currently pursuing her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in May 2022 from the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences at NSU.
