Randolph-Macon College Director of Athletics Jeff Burns announced Thursday the return of Ana Litton as the lead assistant coach for the Yellow Jackets’ Women’s Basketball program.
Litton, who was on Head Coach Carroll LaHaye’s staff from 2002-2006, will spearhead all facets of the R-MC program, including recruiting, on court instruction and all other phases of the highly successful Division III program.
During Litton’s first stint in Ashland, the Yellow Jackets fashioned a record of 98-23 with three ODAC Championships and three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances. In 2005, Litton helped R-MC to a 30-2 record, a perfect 20-0 mark in the ODAC and a run to the Division III National Championship game. Litton and the Yellow Jackets followed that up with an Elite Eight finish in 2006.
No stranger to the ODAC by any means, Litton racked up six years of coaching experience at Washington & Lee University, Shenandoah University and Paul VI High School prior to coming to R-MC in 2002.
Litton returns to the Commonwealth of Virginia after spending the last several years in Chicago. Litton capped her stay in the Midwest with a stop at North Park University where she served as an assistant coach from 2010-12, while pursuing her Master’s Degree in Education.
