Villanova University head women’s basketball coach Harry Perretta today announced the hiring of former Wildcat guard Mimi Riley as the program’s Director of Basketball Operations. Riley replaces Briana Weiss who left to pursue other career opportunities.
Riley played at Villanova from 1997-2002 and tallied 862 points, 416 assists, 356 rebounds and 81 steals. The 416 assists currently ranks seventh all-time in school history. During her Wildcat career, Villanova posted a 92-59 record and earned two NCAA Tournament berths.
As a senior in 2001-02, Riley garnered Big East Conference Honorable Mention accolades, in addition to earning the Big East Sportsmanship Award. She also was a first team All-Philadelphia Big Five honoree in 2001-02.
Riley has had previous collegiate coaching experience at both Georgetown University (2002-03) and LaSalle University (2003-10). For the past three years, she was an assistant at her alma mater, Archbishop Carroll High School. In 2012, she helped the Patriots to both the Catholic League championship and the PIAA state title.
