According to a report from Matt Connolly, Clemson will hire Shawn Poppie as their new women’s basketball head coach. He will replace Amanda Butler who “parted ways” with Clemson back on March 12th.
Poppie has had a big-time run during his two seasons at Chattanooga, going 48-18 (.727) and capturing back-to-back SoCon tournament championships. Prior to his time with the Mocs, he worked in the ACC on Kenny Brooks staff at Virginia Tech for six seasons.
More on this move once it becomes official.
