According to a report from TigerNet, Clemson will part ways with head women’s basketball coach Amanda Butler.
Butler had spent the past six seasons as the Tigers head coach, compiling an 81-106 overall record and a 32-73 in ACC play. This past season, Clemson went 12-19 (5-13 ACC).
Clemson won 20 games in Butler’s first season (2018-19), but struggled after that, winning 20 total games in the next two seasons combined. The Tigers seemed to have turned the corner last season when they went 19-16, but ultimately they could not sustain that win total this year.
Prior to her time at Clemson, Butler spent 10 seasons as the head WBB Coach at Florida, where she went posting a 190-137 with eight postseason berths. She also spent two seasons as the head coach at Charlotte where she went 40-22.
More on this once it becomes official.
