Central Methodist Head Women’s Basketball Coach Mike Davis has announced the promotion of Remy Lory to Associate Head Coach after serving as an assistant since the fall of 2017.

In that span, Central has captured two Heart Regular-Season Championships and two Heart Tournament Championships. The Eagles have also qualified for the NAIA National Tournament twice, including a quarterfinals appearance in 2018.
“We are so happy to promote Coach Remy to Associate Head Coach,” said Coach Davis. “He is a big part of our success. He is a tireless worker as a recruiter, on the court, and helping our student-athletes in the classroom. We are excited for Coach Remy to help build this program even more for the future.”
During his tenure, Coach Remy has been instrumental in the development of the 2017-18 NAIA National Player of the Year DaJonee Hale, four NAIA All-Americans, two Heart Players of the Year, two Newcomers of the Year, one Freshman of Year, and 14 Heart All-Conference selections. He has also had a hand in coaching and developing two All-Championship team members, and fifteen Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
“I want to thank Coach Davis, Vice President of Student Life & Athletics Natasha Wilson, and the rest of Central Methodist University for the opportunity I’ve been given not only now, but since coming to CMU,” said Lory. “This program and university took a chance on me and I look forward to helping this team take the next step while continuing the tradition we have built.”
After graduating from Southeastern University in the spring of 2016, Coach Remy was an assistant at Arizona Western College. While with the Matadors, Coach Remy helped guide team to a 23-9 record overall and a runner-up finish in Region 1 of the National Junior College Athletic Association. He assisted in coaching three ACCAC All-Conference players, with two going on to play NCAA Division I basketball.
Born in Haiti, Coach Remy calls Naples, Fla., home. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management with a minor in Physical Education and Coaching from Southeastern University. In May 2019, Coach Remy earned his Masters of Education with an emphasis on Athletic Administration from Central.
