Randolph named AC @ FIU

FIU Head Coach Cindy Russo has announced the addition of Cristal Randolph as assistant coach to the Panther women’s basketball staff for the 2012-13 season.

Randolph comes to FIU from nearby Florida Atlantic University, where she served as an assistant coach with the Owls for two seasons (2010-12). Her duties included assisting in all aspects of recruiting, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, preparing scouting reports and assisting with practice planning, and conducting individual skill and development workouts.

Prior to her stint at FAU, Randolph spent two seasons (2008-10) at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, as director of women’s basketball operations. Before her time with the Redhawks, she served as admissions recruiter (2007-08) and community outreach coordinator (2008) at FAU.

Randolph enjoyed a four-year playing career at FAU from 2003-07, appearing in every game in the 2005-06 season and leading the Owls to the women’s basketball program’s first-ever NCAA Division I Tournament berth. For her career, Randolph played in 114 contests, averaging 7.4 points per game, and her 155 career three-pointers rank second all-time in school history.
