Queens University of Charlotte head women’s basketball coach Sarah Jansen is pleased to announce the addition of Chelsea Faulhaber to her coaching staff for the 2018-2019 season.
“Chelsea brings a unique set of playing and coaching experience that will have a positive impact on our program and community,” said Jansen. “She has invaluable coaching experience with Chad Killinger at one of the top Division I Junior Colleges in the country in addition to playing at the Division I and Division II levels. Chelsea will be a tremendous asset to our players and staff.”
Faulhaber joins the Royals after spending a season on staff at Moberly Area Community College in Moberly, Missouri. She helped guide the Greyhounds to perfect 29-0 regular season record, a No. 4 national ranking and a third-seed in the NJCAA Region XVI Tournament.
She began her collegiate playing career at NCAA Division I Jacksonville University before transferring to Johnson C. Smith University to finish her final three years of eligibility. Faulhaber appeared in 63 career games as a center, totaling 237 points, 168 rebounds and 55 blocks along the way.
A native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, where she graduated from Spartanburg High School, Faulhaber was named All-State as she averaged 15.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and 5.6 blocks per game her senior year. She was the Region III-4A Player of the Year and was selected to both the North-South and Spartanburg vs. Greenville FCA All-Star Games.
“I am really excited to be back in the Charlotte area and coaching here at Queens,” said Faulhaber. “I’m looking forward to what we can do here this season and in the seasons to come.”
Faulhaber earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management from Johnson C. Smith and currently resides in Charlotte.
