Providence promotes Reagan to Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

Providence College women’s basketball Head Coach Erin Batth announced today [July 30] that Molly Reagan has been promoted to assistant coach. Reagan is entering her second season with the Friars, having served as the associate director of player development in 2023-24.

“I am so excited for this next progression in Molly’s career,” Batth said. “She is a great coach and teacher which has been a key component in the development of our forwards. Not only does she draw from her previous coaching experience at Carnegie Mellon, under the direction of long-time Head Coach Jacquie Hullah, she also has experience as a former Division I basketball player. Molly is incredibly smart and has a great basketball mind, making her a huge asset on the floor. We are also excited to add Molly as an off-campus recruiter, as she’s done a great job with our on-campus visits. She is a great relationship builder and that will serve us well when working with AAU programs and high school coaches on the recruiting trail.”

Prior to her arrival at Providence, Reagan spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa. She helped guide the Tartans to the 2022 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament title. Carnegie Mellon knocked off top-seeded Kean University in the semifinals (77-44) and went on to defeat Penn State-Behrend in the championship game (80-60). It marked CMU’s first postseason appearance since 2017.

Before joining the collegiate coaching ranks, Reagan spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Braintree High School in Braintree, Mass. She also coached for three seasons at the elite club level with New England Exposure Basketball, LLC.

Reagan played NCAA Division I basketball at Liberty, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She earned a master’s in business administration (MBA) from Liberty in 2018.

The Flames advanced to postseason play during two of her three seasons with the program. In her final campaign in 2017-18, Liberty compiled a 24-10 overall record, claimed the Big South Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Reagan enjoyed an impressive high school career Braintree High School, where she helped guide her team to back-to-back Massachusetts Division I State titles in 2014-2015. She finished her career with 1,100 points, was a three-time Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic Selection. Reagan averaged 12.0 points, 8.0 rebounds per game as a senior and was named to the Bay State Conference First Team and Boston Globe Dream Team.
