The Pitt women’s basketball program announced several staff updates Tuesday, highlighted by the promotion of Anthony Brammer to assistant coach/general manager and Abby Anderson to assistant coach/director of player development.
In addition, head coach Tory Verdi announced the hiring of Camron Blair as head strength and conditioning coach and Ashleigh Wick as director of basketball operations.
Brammer, who served as an assistant coach the past two seasons, will take on expanded responsibilities in roster management and program operations. Anderson transitions from director of basketball operations to the court, where she will focus on player development.
Blair arrives in Pittsburgh after a stint at Louisiana Tech, bringing extensive experience in player performance and strength training. Wick, meanwhile, will oversee the program’s operational logistics, travel coordination and administrative functions.
Camron Blair – Head Strength & Conditioning Coach
Blair comes to Pitt after serving as associate sports performance coach at Louisiana Tech, where he directed training programs for women’s basketball and volleyball. Prior to that, he spent a season at Tennessee as a strength and conditioning coaching assistant, working closely with women’s basketball while also assisting with softball, rowing and track and field.
Blair began his career with stops at Georgia College and State University as a graduate assistant and Mercer as a strength and conditioning intern.
A certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Blair earned a master’s degree in health and human performance from Georgia College and State University in 2023 and a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the same institution in 2021.
Ashleigh Wick – Director of Basketball Operations
Wick joins the Panthers after completing a season with the New York Jets, where she worked in personnel operations. In that role, she supported advance scouting, roster management, free-agent evaluations and administrative operations across the football department.
She previously served two years with the UMass football program as director of on-campus recruiting and administrative operations, overseeing event planning, compliance and recruiting documentation, and player support services.
A participant in the 2024 NFL Women’s Forum, Wick also gained recruiting experience with Florida State football, helping coordinate official and unofficial visits, prospect camps and compliance logistics. She is pursuing a master’s degree in sport management from UMass Amherst and is a graduate of Florida State, where she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in marketing/business management and environment and society in 2022.
