Park Steps Down as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Cal State Fullerton

After spending four years at the helm of the Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball program, head coach Daron Park and the Cal State Fullerton Athletics Department have mutually decided to part ways, Athletics Director Jim Donovan announced on Friday.

Park was hired as Fullerton’s head women’s basketball coach on April 3, 2013. During his time with the Titans, he led the program to just its fourth Big West Conference Tournament semifinal appearance in program history.

“I’d like to thank the administration at Cal State Fullerton for the opportunity to coach this women’s basketball program,” said Park. “After numerous discussions with my family, at this time we feel like it’s best for not only me and my family, but for the program, to head in a different direction at this time. I wish nothing but the best for Cal State Fullerton moving forward.”

Before coming to Fullerton, Park spent 12 seasons coaching at the Division I level, appearing in seven NCAA tournaments, taking three trips to the Elite Eight, and securing one WNIT bid during that span.

A national search for Cal State Fullerton’s new head women’s basketball coach will begin immediately.
