Ozarks hires Turpin as Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach

Turpin, a native of Cypress, Texas, was a two-year starter for the Eagles, earning all-conference honors in both 2023 and 2024.

“I could not be happier to add Coach Turpin to our staff,” said Watson. “I truly enjoyed coaching her for the past two seasons. Not only was she a great player, but she also grew into an outstanding leader. She adds value in many areas for us, but most importantly, she understands our system and expectations. I am looking forward to what we are going to be able to accomplish this season as a team.”

Turpin was part of two of the program’s biggest wins as she led the Eagles to a playoff win against UT Dallas and a home victory over nationally-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Turpin finishes her collegiate career with 1,015 points, 339 rebounds and 134 assists and earned ASC Player of the Week accolades. She exceeded in the classroom, too, qualifying for the American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference Team. Additionally, she was a member of College Sports Communicators Women’s Basketball Academic All-District Team.
