Osborne elevated to Head Women’s Basketball Coach at West Virginia Tech

WVU Tech Director of Athletics, Kenneth Howell, has announced Kenny Osborne as the head coach of women’s basketball after his one-year stint as the Golden Bears’ assistant.

“I’m happy to continue to work with Kenny who is now at the helm of the women’s basketball program,” Howell said. “His experience and skill set combined with his passion for teaching the game makes him a strong leader for the Golden Bears.”

As head coach of Concord, Osborne won over 300 games and led the Mountain Lions to three consecutive 20-win seasons before stepping away as head coach at the end of the 2021-2022 campaign. He coached the first two All-Americans in the program’s history at Concord. Osborne also earned WBCA Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year honors (2018-2019) after leading the Mountain Lions to 23 wins, a program record.

Osborne graduated from Glenville State University earning a degree in physical education before getting his master’s degree in the same major from Radford University.

The Golden Bears finished 5-22 overall last season and held a 2-15 record in the River States Conference.
